A Weekend in Málaga: Villas, Wine, Tapas & Adventure
Malaga has a certain charm and you can tailor your weekend to what you would like. but here is my list of things to do:
- Malaga Old Town: We had the cutest little stroll around here one evening and ended up having an awesome meal at Kraken Tapas Bar. But trust me, it’s not just the evenings that are magical. Malaga Old Town is packed with history, culture, and some seriously cool spots like the Roman Theatre and Alcazaba Fortress. The theater is free to enter, and Alcazaba is very affordable at just €3.50, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely visit.
- Boat Trips, Did you know you can take a day trip to Gibraltar from Málaga? Enjoy daily boat tours featuring dolphin watching, a scenic cable car ride, and plenty of time to explore the area before savouring a delicious lunch in Gibraltar.
- Caminito Del Ray: Nestled in the heart of Málaga, Spain, this iconic walkway offers a unique journey through towering cliffs, gorges, and the stunning Guadalhorce River below. Known as one of the most exciting hiking trails in the world, it’s ideal for those who want to step out of their comfort zone and embrace nature’s wild beauty
-Marbella Day Trip: Just a 45-minute drive from Malaga, Marbella is the perfect destination for a day of adventure and relaxation. From breath taking sightseeing to vibrant evening entertainment. For a truly unforgettable experience, why not indulge in a private 2-3 hour yacht sailing? It doesn’t get better than this!

Ready to choose your accommodation?
So, what would you choose: a villa or a hotel? Here are some ideas for both to help you decide. A villa is ideal if you’re looking for privacy, space, and a more personalised experience. Perfect for bigger groups, you’ll often enjoy private pools, kitchens, and the luxury of feeling at home while on holiday. On the other hand, hotels are great for convenience, service, and amenities. Whether it’s 24/7 room service, housekeeping, or access to on-site restaurants and spas, a hotel offers a hassle-free stay with everything at your fingertips. Your choice depends on your priorities—relaxation and independence or indulgence and convenience. Which suits your travel style better?

In one direction, you’ve got the meandering trails of the Sierras de Tejeda Mountains and in the other, it’s a leisurely walk to Nerja’s beachfront. Simplicity is the watchword, inside and out. The backyard is dominated by a shimmering swimming pool – as it should be in the southern Spanish heat.
