Where to stay in Barcelona will depend on what you want out of your trip.
Gracia- Has nice Bars and Restaurants and is popular with tourist. Guell park is in this area.
El Poblenou- For those wanting to be by the sea, For the beach goers.
Barceloneta- Popular with tourists looking for nightlife, Bars and the Beach
El Born and Gothic- Arguable the most charming part of the city with historic buildings, winding streets and hidden features.

What to do:
Sagrada Familia -A Roman Catholic Minor Basilica and one of Barcelona's most iconic landmarks. A must see in Barcelona and is best to book in advance.
Park Guell- One of Barcelona's largest green spaces, this masterpiece by Gaudi is celebrated as one of his most significant works and proudly holds the designation of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Montjuic- A historic hill in Barcelona celebrated for its vibrant cultural heritage. Take a scenic cable car ride to explore the iconic castle and its picturesque surroundings.
Gothic Quarter- A super cool mix of history, culture, and modern vibes. Wander through the buzzing streets, check out the stunning Barcelona Cathedral, or dive into some amazing art at the Picasso Museum. If you’re up for it, catch a Catalan rumba concert and give dancing a shot!
Girona- Plan a day trip to Girona, a charming and picturesque city famously featured in "Game of Thrones." Quieter and less crowded than Barcelona, Girona is a hidden gem that's well worth exploring. Located just 38 minutes away by train, it’s the fastest and most convenient way to travel.




Moving on: The drive to Andorra
If you've been staying in Barcelona, it's often best to wait until you're ready to leave the city before renting a car. Barcelona is well-connected and easy to navigate without one.
Once you've picked up your car, there are two popular routes to reach Andorra. Here, I'll focus on the longer route, which offers more sights and attractions along the way. Even with the extra stops, the drive only takes about 3 hours. Click here to download a map.
Things to see on route:
La Colenia Guell-This is one of the first industrial villages designed specifically for work and living. It has a factory, houses, and the Gaudi Church Crypt. You'll find it 14.3 miles outside Barcelona in Santa Coloma de Cervello.
Montserrat- A stunning multi-peaked mountain range offering endless opportunities for adventure and relaxation. Ride the cable car to the summit, hike scenic trails to take in breathtaking views, enjoy a performance by the renowned boys' choir, explore fascinating museums, indulge in wine tasting, or savor a delightful lunch with a view. The possibilities are truly limitless.
Manresa- Rich in history, adorned with stunning architecture, and celebrated for its traditional Catalan cuisine. You could make this stop your lunch stop.
Cardona- Cardona home to one of the worlds most important salt deposit and a medieval castle. Both a must seeing if heading to Cardona. Note the salt mountain is not open on a Monday.
Panta D'Oliana-
Located along the River Segre, this reservoir offers a variety of activities for all adventure enthusiasts. Enjoy kayaking, hiking, or, for the more daring, tackle an exhilarating via ferrata experience.

Vall Del Madria- As the largest of Andorra's three national parks, this destination is truly unmissable. Renowned for its breathtaking hiking trails and scenic horse trekking during the summer months, it offers endless opportunities for adventure and exploration.
